After enjoying an awesome breakfast, I’m finally ready to explore the interesting places in Ella which is so famous among tourists and also the locals. I arrived here last evening accommodated myself at the beautiful Ella Flower Garden Hotel. The welcome and the view from the room is amazing. The Landscape is an absolute getaway from me from the busy city life.

The Ella Flower Garden itself contributes well for Ella with a lot of plant life surrounding the hotel. So finally, I was ready for one of my bucket list experience, the Flying Ravana Zipline, a unique activity you can experience only in Ella in Sri Lanka. I took the transportation in a half lorry to the activity spot, which is cool but not that comfortable. Who cares! When you come for an adventurous activity you can’t expect luxury.
So, as I enter the Flying Ravana Zipline activity spot I can hear the screams of joy of some tourists who were taking the zip line which got me quite excited and afraid at the same time. The price for this awesome activity is 20 USD per adult and of course it already looks worth the price to me. I met my activist at the launching pad of the zip line, he instructed me on how my movements should me and how to hold the cameras if I’m planning for a shoot, this time I decided just to take the ride as I didn’t want get spooked out, not enjoy my ride and lose my camera all at the same time.
All gear is on, seems solid, helmets on well, there is nothing to worry about as if that will not kill me if I fall who knows how many feet. I was hooked to the zipline, at this time I am a little terrified as this is my first time on a zipline ever. All I heard was 3 2 1 go… here I am woooohooo!!! All I see is the lovely landscapes of the hills, the wind blows through my face at speed and I’m thinking to myself this is great and suddenly gained confidence and started to actually enjoy the ride. I was expecting a straight position but that seems impossible as I keep spinning while running down but that’s okay as I get to see the whole surrounding. Honestly It is not the scenery that you will enjoy at this point it’s the thrill of the ride.

This ride was about half a kilo meter I suppose? As I reached the platform at the other end high speed there was another activist grabbed me to break the speed, he checked with me if I’m okay and how was the ride so I complemented. This is the only place in Sri Lanka that you get to enjoy this so if Ella is in your tour itinerary, this is a mut to do. I can guarantee you this is 100% safe and the thrill is extra ordinary.
The transport was already there to take me back to the starting point. I’m considering another ride as I have plenty of time. One of my bucket list activity is over in Ella. I will blog you what I’m going to do next during my stay. Till next time!
